X-Architecture (XA) is an architectural company established in the UK, with studios in both London and Tbilisi, Georgia. We are an experimental cross-disciplinary practice offering services in virtual and augmented reality, digital fabrication and industrial design.
Our name captures the two components at the core of our work; experimental, architecture.
Our team has experience across multiple sectors, from airport design to high-end residential projects. XA was founded by graduates of ETH and the Architectural Association to unite a mixture of design-orientated professionals, in order to offer clients a high level of service across a range of briefs.

Our practice unites a cross-disciplinary team of professionals who believe that no building should exist without a deep, symbiotic relationship with its context. We reject “one-size-fits-all” solutions, instead treating every site as a unique laboratory where environmental factors dictate form. By integrating high-tech computational tools—such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis and generative models—we shape the geometry of our structures. This performance-driven approach ensures that our work is as environmentally responsible as it is aesthetically bold.

Before a single line is drawn, our team engages in an period of “deep research” that transcends traditional site analysis. On each project we dive into the geological, historical, and socio-economic layers of a location to uncover its “hidden” DNA. This process is not merely observational; it is analytical and data-driven. By leveraging advanced site-mapping and environmental simulations—including CFD and solar radiation studies.
CFD
We use CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis to visualize and calculate how air interacts with our structures and the surrounding landscape. By simulating wind pressure, velocity, and turbulence, we can optimize building orientation to enhance natural ventilation, reduce structural wind loads, and improve pedestrian comfort at ground level. This allows us to “carve” the building mass in response to invisible aerodynamic forces.

GENERATIVE MODEL
Rather than designing a single static shape, we develop custom algorithms that allow us to explore a vast “solution space” of possibilities. By inputting specific constraints—such as site boundaries, floor area requirements, and environmental data—we use code to evolve thousands of iterations. This computational process helps us identify the most efficient and high-performing geometries that a traditional design process might never uncover.

SOLAR ANALYSIS
By quantifying exactly how much heat gain or natural light a surface receives, we can precisely engineer facade apertures, overhangs, and material finishes. We conduct rigorous Solar Analysis to map radiation levels, shading patterns, and daylight autonomy across the site throughout the year. This ensures our buildings maximize passive heating in the winter and minimize cooling loads in the summer, creating spaces that are both light-filled and energy-efficient.

Despite our high-tech digital workflow, we remain deeply committed to the physical craft of architecture. At X-Architecture, in-house physical modeling is a vital part of our design process.
We maintain a dedicated workshop where handcrafted models are built to explore scale, materiality, and the play of light in a way that a screen cannot fully capture. For us, these models are not just final presentation pieces; they are active design tools.
